Private Lessons or Board and Train, which one is right for me?The choice between private lessons and board and trains is a personal decision based on your lifestyle. Private lessons are great for the motivated dog owner who has the time and discipline to be incredibly consistent as they are going through the early teaching stages. Board and trains, on the other hand, are more intensive training programs. Since your dog will be with a trainer all day, every day, during their stay with us we will be able to move through things a bit faster and pay attention to some of the little details that add up and make things easier for you when you go to take the leash again. Board and train programs are a great fit for busy households, if you have a long vacation planned, or if you are not confident in your consistency at home. Minor to moderate behavioral issues can be solved in either program but more severe behavioral issues like dog or human aggression usually require a private program. It’s our belief that issues like these are much easier to overcome for the dog if structure is instilled at home while the dog is learning and going through training. Please contact us if you are still on the fence and we will help you decide!

I’ve already been to other trainers and it hasn’t worked. Can you really help?Right Tree Dog Training’s unique approach to dog training creates an incredibly strong relationship between us, you, and your dog. Within that relationship we establish a mutual respect, and create healthy boundaries, not to mention reliable obedience commands that solve specific undesirable behaviors while also creating a calm state of mind. This leads to long lasting training for you and your dog. These philosophies and techniques are broken down using our very easy to understand teaching methods honed through years of educating people and dogs alike. Second is our strong emphasis on client follow up and education. In any of our programs, whether board and train or private lessons, you will receive follow up support both during and after the program. You will have access to your trainers which you will be able to reach out to with any questions between sessions or after your program has ended. Our #1 goal is ensuring that you stay successful with your dog for the rest of their lives. One of my favorite parts of this business is the lifelong relationships I’ve made with clients and their precious pups.

What is your pricing? Our pricing is fluid and based on several factors. We will discuss those factors and determine the pricing in the free evaluation or the at home consultation. I do offer very competitive pricing and will match or beat any other training quote for a similar program you may have found elsewhere. Since I am not a franchise and I’m a smaller operation, I don’t need to inflate my prices to unreasonable levels. I also offer the option of payment plans for all my programs as well.

What does my dog do all day during their board and train? All dogs that come in for our board and train programs have a tightly structured day to day schedule that focuses on specific problem behaviors, physical exercise, and mental exercise. At the beginning of the day we do our morning potty runs. After everyone has been out, we start any morning walks and lessons. All dogs get about a 30 minute structured walk around our neighborhood. We do roughly 3-4 hours of training sessions per dog throughout the day. We will focus on socialization, obedience, duration work, playtime, and specific behavioral modification. As the dog progresses through the training, these sessions will be conducted out and about in distracting areas to proof the commands. We do our second feeding around 5-6PM. All dogs then rest in their crates, or on the place command for approximately one hour post meal time. Finally we end the day with our last evening walk and any final training sessions we need to do before they are kenneled up for the evening.

Will I see my dog during the Board and Train? We do not allow visitations during the board and trains. We put a lot of effort on making sure the first interactions that your dog has with you after their stay is as structured as possible. This lets the dog know that the same rules that we implemented with them will apply when they go back home. You will be getting periodic updates through direct contact and social media posts. I typically update owners every 48-72 hrs. But I am great at responding to on demand updates as well. I totally understand how difficult it can be to be away from you dog and I go above and beyond to make sure everyone is as comfortable and confident as possible when your dog is in my care.

Do you offer any sort of guarantee on your training?Due to the many factors involved in a dog’s success at home, including owner commitment, consistency, and follow through, it is impossible to offer a 100% guarantee. That being said, ANY of our clients going through any of our training programs have our total commitment to helping them in any way we can. We have never had a dog that hasn’t been able to make incredible breakthroughs with us provided their owner is willing to put in the work required to make such breakthroughs. I pride myself on providing lifetime support for my clients. No question is too small, just reach out. No matter if it’s a week, a month, or years after training, I will always be here to support.

Do you offer discounts on multi-dog training?Unlike a lot of trainers, typically our answer is yes! But there are behavioral cases where training multiple dogs makes it much more difficult. During the free evaluation, we will determine pricing and if any discount will be offered.

Do you offer boarding services?Yes, but only for graduates of my programs. The pups love staying at my place because there are always other fun loving pups here for them to play with. It’s also very easy for me to keep the training consistent. It’s a far better option than a crowded and stressful boarding facility, especially during holidays and/or summer vacations.
